Watch for the doctor's call

Our doctors call or text patients directly — typically between 10 AM and 9 PM, including weekends. Please answer calls from unknown or spam-labeled numbers during your window.

We'll email you about your appointment, and we can see if a call was missed. If that happens, we'll work with the doctor to make sure they try you again.

💡 What to expect: Most appointments take 10–15 minutes. The doctor will review your medical history, discuss how cannabis may help your condition, and submit your certification electronically during or right after the call. In most states, your certification appears in your state portal account within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the doctor's appointment take?

Most certification appointments take 10 to 15 minutes. The doctor reviews your medical history, discusses how cannabis may help your condition, and submits your certification electronically during or right after the call.

Can I schedule a same-day appointment?

Yes — in most states we offer same-day and next-day appointments. You can schedule up to about an hour before our office closes for the day. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM ET, with doctor calls running until 9 PM, including weekends.

Do I need to do anything before the appointment?

Yes. Fill out the intake form sent to your email after booking. In Pennsylvania you'll also need a Patient ID from the state portal before your appointment. Other states may require a state portal account or registration first. The booking confirmation email will tell you exactly what's required for your state.

What if I miss the doctor's call?

Our office can see when calls are missed and we'll work with the doctor to try you again. If you know you're going to miss your window, contact us at (814) 360-5353 to reschedule.

How much does the appointment cost?

Most states are $125 for new patients and $50–$75 for renewals. Maine is a flat $75 for both. Some states have an additional state fee paid separately to the state's medical marijuana program. See your state's booking page for exact pricing.

Is the appointment covered by insurance?

Medical cannabis certifications are generally not covered by insurance, since the federal classification of cannabis prevents most insurers from billing for related services. Some states (like New York) require insurers to cover the office visit if certification isn't the sole purpose. Check with your insurer for specifics.
