Steps for a New Patient to Obtain a Medical Marijuana Card

Follow these steps to make the process simple and stress-free.

Ensure You Have a Valid State-Issued ID

You'll need a current driver's license or state ID for the state you are applying for a card in.

Check Your Eligibility

States recognize certain medical conditions that qualify you for a card. Provide proof — a clear picture of a medical document or a screenshot from your patient portal works fine.

If you don't have a diagnosis, our doctors can evaluate you for anxiety or chronic pain (extra fee applies).

Create Your State Account

Register with your state's Department of Health to manage your info and pay fees. Visit our HELP PAGE for links to your state's patient portal.

If tech is challenging, we'll create your account and email you the login details.

Schedule with Our Doctor

Fill out our online form here and book your certification appointment. You will receive a receipt and confirmation of your appointment by email.

Doctor Call and Certification

Our doctors will call to complete your certification and submit it to the state. Please allow 24–48 hours for it to post to your state account.

Complete the State Payment

Look for an email from your state's Department of Health with instructions to log in and pay the state fee.

Receive Your Card by Mail

Your card arrives in 7–10 days. Track progress in the Card Status section under "Profile Settings" in your state account.

Remember: Keep your mailing address up to date in your state portal before starting. Incorrect info causes delays and extra costs.
