Your Doctor Completes It
Your Michigan-licensed Green Bridge doctor sees your application in their state portal, contacts you to finish the review, and issues your certification — often the same day, once your portal steps are done. The state then issues your 2-year registry card.

Your doctor will try again and may text. Calls sometimes show as "Unknown" or "Spam Risk."
How soon can I visit a dispensary?
After you register on the MI CRA portal and pay the $40 state fee, the state reviews your application and mails your registry card — often within a few business days when your doctor certifies promptly. Michigan asks patients to wait for the official registry card before purchasing, so plan to shop once it arrives. We'll help you check your application status in the meantime.
How long is my Michigan card valid?
Two full years from the date of issue — one of the longest in the country.
Why not just buy recreational?
Recreational purchases include a 10% excise tax plus a 24% wholesale tax that gets passed to you. Medical patients skip all of that. You also get higher possession limits and can grow 12 plants per patient (not per household).

Can I use my MI card in other states?
Michigan accepts some out-of-state medical cards, and some states accept Michigan cards. We also certify in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia.
