Stop Paying the Extra Cannabis Tax in Ohio
Adult-use cannabis has an extra 10% cannabis tax. Medical patients skip that tax.
- Skip the 10% adult-use cannabis tax every time you shop.
- Higher purchase limits and better access to the products you rely on.
- Many dispensaries offer extra discounts for medical patients.
π΅ $100 adult-use purchase
β $10 in extra 10% cannabis tax
π With a medical card, you keep that $10 in your pocket.
ποΈ $250 adult-use purchase
β $25 in extra cannabis tax
π Two or three trips like that can cost more than a yearly renewal.
π¦ $1,000 in adult-use purchases over a year
β $100 in extra cannabis tax you wouldn't pay as a medical patient.
A lot of people skip a medical renewal to "save money," then quietly tip the state an extra 10% every time they shop. One or two bigger trips can wipe out what you would have spent on your card.
*Examples show savings from avoiding the 10% adult-use cannabis tax. Regular state/local sales taxes may still apply in some cases. Tax rates and rules can change; always confirm current Ohio regulations.
Why Get an Ohio Medical Card?
Ohio legalized recreational cannabis in 2024 β but medical cardholders still get major advantages. Skip the 10% adult-use tax, get higher purchase limits, and access priority supply at dispensaries.
Green Bridge Society has certified over 100,000 patients since 2018. We don't just get you certified β we help you through the state portal and make sure your card actually works.
Medical patients don't pay the 10% recreational tax. That adds up fast. A $200/month habit costs you $240 without a card.
Higher limits. Medical patients can purchase more than recreational customers.
We handle the confusing part. The Ohio registry trips people up. We walk you through it.
---How It Works
1. Schedule Your Appointment

2. Doctor Certification
Quick telemedicine visit. If approved, our doctor submits your certification to the state system immediately.
3. Complete State Registration
Log into the Ohio Medical Marijuana Registry, verify your info, and activate your card. We help if you get stuck.
4. Visit Any Dispensary
Once your card is active, you can purchase at any licensed Ohio dispensary β and skip the recreational tax line.

---New Patients vs. Renewals
New Patient β $125
Never had an Ohio card before? This is for you. We certify you and help you complete your state registration.
Renewal β $50
