🛑 Card Not Working

Card Not Working at the Dispensary?

Follow these quick steps to restore access to your Pennsylvania medical card.

1
Check your card dates

Look at the Issue Date and Expiration Date printed on your card.

  • If the card is expired or outside the valid date range, it will not work.
  • You’ll need a currently dated card to regain access.

If your dates are current, move on to the next step.

2
Confirm your annual state payment

Even if you’ve been certified, you must complete your annual payment with the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PADOH) to stay active.

Log in to your PA DOH account here:

3
Check and update your mailing address

Once you’re logged in:

  • Go to your Profile Settings.
  • Confirm your mailing address is correct and update it if anything has changed.

Incorrect addresses can cause delays in receiving your card.

4
Check your card status

Still in your Profile Settings, look for the Card Status box.

  • You should see your status as either Active or Inactive.
  • On the right, you’ll see your Payment Due Date.

🕒 If that date has passed, your card has been turned off by the state until you pay.

5
Make your annual payment

Go to the Make Payment tab in your account and complete the transaction. This is required every year, even if you expect your payment to be waived.

Once completed:

  • Your payment screen will say “No Payment Due.”
  • Return to your Profile Settings and confirm your Card Status now says ACTIVE.
